Giro del Veneto

The Giro del Veneto is one of Italy’s historic one-day cycling races, first contested in 1909 and deeply connected with the cycling culture of northeastern Italy. Across its long history, changing routes have carried the peloton through the plains, walled towns and foothills of Veneto, a region where major cities sit within reach of the Venetian Prealps.

Around the Peloton explores the Giro del Veneto through the territory behind the race, uncovering Roman and Venetian heritage, Renaissance architecture, historic communities and the hills that provide its decisive terrain. More than a century after its first edition, the race remains a journey through one of Italy’s richest cycling regions.
