Coppa Sabatini

The Coppa Sabatini is a historic Italian one-day cycling race centred on Peccioli, a hilltop town in the Tuscan province of Pisa. First held in 1952 and dedicated to local cyclist Giuseppe Sabatini, the race uses the rolling terrain of the Valdera, where repeated climbs, twisting roads and circuits around Peccioli create a selective late-season contest.

Around the Peloton explores the race through its distinctly Tuscan setting, uncovering medieval settlements, agricultural landscapes, contemporary art and the history of the communities surrounding Peccioli while tracing the roads that have shaped more than seventy years of the Coppa Sabatini.
