Il Lombardia 2026 traces one of cycling’s great autumn journeys from Bergamo to Como, crossing the lake country and Prealpine foothills of northern Lombardy. Known as the “Race of the Falling Leaves,” the final Monument of the season combines demanding climbs with places deeply embedded in cycling history, including the Madonna del Ghisallo and the roads above Lake Como. Along the route, centuries-old towns, religious sanctuaries, Alpine landscapes and the cultural history of Lombardy give the race a significance extending far beyond its famous climbs.
