Stage races transform professional cycling into a journey across entire regions and countries, with the competition developing over consecutive days rather than a single route. Mountains, coastlines, cities, time trials and transitional stages combine to create races in which geography continuously changes both the sporting challenge and the world surrounding the peloton.
Around the Peloton follows these tours stage by stage, exploring the history, landscapes, architecture and communities encountered along each route. From famous climbs to places rarely seen by international audiences, every stage becomes an opportunity to understand the territory through which the race travels and the stories hidden beyond the road.
Stage 2 is short, but the landscape changes quickly enough to make the distance feel larger than it is. From Biograd na Moru, the race heads north along the coast towards Zadar, then turns towards the rougher country beneath Velebit before…
The CRO Race opens on the Dalmatian coast, but Stage 1 does not stay there for long. From Split, the route turns inland through Stobreč and the country east of the city, crosses the old territory of Poljica, reaches the…

Stage 2 crosses Luxembourg almost from one economic history to another. It begins in Niederkorn and Differdange, inside the Minett, the southern region whose red iron ore transformed Luxembourg from a largely agricultural country into one of Europe’s great steel…
The Tour de Luxembourg begins and ends in the capital, but Stage 1 is anything but a city loop. After the neutral start at Knuedler, the race leaves Luxembourg City and spends 157.5 kilometres crossing a remarkably dense concentration of…
The 2026 Tour of Britain ends in a landscape where stories have always travelled easily between history and legend. The final stage begins in Earlston, home of a medieval figure remembered as Thomas the Rhymer, who existed in historical records…
The fourth stage of the Tour of Britain begins beneath the ruins of a castle whose medieval lord was one of the barons appointed to enforce Magna Carta, then travels across a part of Yorkshire where almost every change in…
Stage 3 begins beside a river that made a city and soon reaches a sea that is slowly destroying a coastline. From Hull, the Tour of Britain travels east across Holderness until the land ends at the North Sea. The…
